You are What you Eat

Fake brains! Who wants them? Give me the real stuff!

In John's gospel, Jesus says that He is the True Food and True drink. Nothing else will eternally satisfy our hunger. To the woman at the well in Samaria, He says that all who drink from that well will be thirsty again, but those who drink from the water I will give them will never be thirsty again

What would it be like to never be hungry or thirsty?  Our carnivorous brains cannot even fathom a life without a constant need to be filled!  What will it be like when we eat and are truly satisfied? Only the Lord knows.

As it stands right now, we simply devour the world around us to ease the pain that we often feel.  Zombies tend to do that, and we are all zombies to one degree or another.  But here is the message of hope: Christ gives us Himself so that we don't have to constantly search for the next big thing.  The saying goes that we are what we eat.  If we feed on Christ instead of the people and world around us, just imagine what we will be!

We are what we eat.  Let's come and feed on Christ so we'll become more like Him.  Imagine.  If we become like Christ in the world, then whenever others come to devour us, they'll be tasting a bit of our Lord.  Who knows, they might even become a bit like Christ themselves simply through their encounter with us.  Now, wouldn't that be a surprise?!
